Josef Zeimetz is a German-Polish bassist and composer. He grew up in a musical family in Dresden, and after studying in Amsterdam and in Basel with the likes of Larry Grenadier and Mark Turner, he established himself in Paris, where he continues to work within the European jazz scene. Among others, Josef has performed with David Binney, Julia Perminova and Vincent Meissner. He has performed in countries including Portugal, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Estonia, Armenia, Uruguay, Turkey, and Italy. Some of the awards he has won include the Young Munich Jazz Award (Germany), the Biberach Jazz Award (Germany), the UA International Jazz Award (Portugal), the Umbria Jazz Conad Award (Italy), and the HI-five Award (Germany).
